Body and Earth International

Celebrating 20 years of teaching

Join Caryn McHose, Andrea Olsen, and guests with workshops, retreats, and events in 2024-25.

About this work

For 20 years Caryn and Andrea have been developing a “body of inquiry” under the title Body and Earth International, engaging both local and global workshops focused around three main portals of entry: Experiential Anatomy, Evolutionary Movement, and Authentic Movement. Perception is central, interweaving inner and outer dimensions, as we recognize that humans are part of, not separate from the earth systems we inhabit.

Knowing that movement is our first language and deepest knowing, Caryn and Andrea also celebrate 40 years of dancing, studying, and writing/creating individually and together. In 2024-25, they come together once again, diving deep with specific groups and in special places, sharing current findings and inviting new discoveries through easeful movement exploration, with time to open to known and unknown dimensions of living and loving in this time.

Develop Your Practice

Whatever your practice, these workshops offer insights into how one consciously manifests how you want to apply the impact of this Body and Earth work in the development of your own practice and offerings. These experienced teachers address the multiple ways that we make representations in our specific modalities including movement, language, media, contemplative practices, etc., while articulating the depth and complexity of embodied processes and sharing your creative investigations.

Inquiries we’ll explore

What wants to meet us now?

What language feels most relevant individually and collectively?

How do we uplift ourselves to meet the challenges and invitations of this time?

Can we recognize our needs, value our offerings, and find language to move forward?

Connecting to Space and Place

At this age and in this era, how do we invite higher dimensions of Self while staying grounded in our daily lives?

Can we embrace the sustainability of recognizing what matters, co-regulating our body systems and co-creating on a daily basis and throughout our lives in the places we live and explore?
